The rules, in plain English.

Closebud is a free directory of licensed cannabis retailers. It doesn't sell cannabis, isn't affiliated with the shops it lists, and can't guarantee that any listing is current. Using the site means agreeing to what follows.

A lawyer should read this before you promote the site. It was written by the developer, not an attorney. Cannabis is a heavily regulated industry with real liability; treat this as a solid starting draft, not finished legal work.

1. Who runs this

Closebud ("the Service") is operated by GCC Grow, LLC ("we", "us"). Contact: mybasementgrow@gmail.com.

2. You must be 21 or older

The Service is intended only for adults 21 and over, or the minimum legal cannabis age where you are, whichever is higher. By using it you confirm you meet that age. Don't create an account if you don't.

Closebud does not verify your age and does not verify it on any shop's behalf. Every dispensary checks ID itself. Bring yours.

3. What Closebud is — and isn't

Closebud is an informational directory. It lists retailers that appear on official state regulator license lists and sorts them by distance from you.

We do not sell, supply, deliver, broker, or facilitate the sale of cannabis or any other product. We have no business relationship with the shops listed. A listing is not an endorsement, recommendation, or claim about any shop's quality, legality, safety, or current operating status.

Nothing here is medical, legal, or professional advice. Talk to a doctor about health questions and a lawyer about legal ones.

4. Cannabis law

Cannabis remains illegal under United States federal law, including in states that license its sale. Laws differ enormously by state and city, and change often. You are responsible for knowing and following the law where you are. Closebud showing a shop near you is not a statement that buying, possessing, or using cannabis is legal for you in your situation.

5. Accuracy — please read this one

Shop data comes from state regulator publications. That means:

Call ahead before travelling to any shop. The Service is provided as-is, and we make no warranty that any listing is accurate, current, or complete.

6. Accounts

You're responsible for your account and for keeping your password to yourself. Give accurate information when signing up. Don't share an account, impersonate anyone, or create accounts to evade moderation. We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms.

7. Reviews and user content

You keep ownership of reviews you write. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, and distribute that content as part of the Service.

Don't post content that is:

We may hide or delete any review, with or without notice, and may remove accounts that repeatedly break these rules. We don't pre-screen reviews, so content appears before anyone reads it — use the Report link and it will be looked at.

8. Acceptable use

Don't scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy the Service's data for a competing product. Don't attempt to breach, overload, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure. Don't use it to break the law.

9. Availability

The Service is free and provided as-is, with no uptime guarantee. Features may change or disappear — Google sign-in is disabled right now, for example. We may modify or discontinue any part of it at any time.

10. No warranty

To the maximum extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the Service — including relying on inaccurate shop information, anything that happens at a shop you found here, or any legal consequence of your own cannabis-related activity.

12. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. Material changes will be noted in the changelog along with a new date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means accepting it.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York.
